Telecommunication Systems Design Engineer - UT

Wolf Coach, an L-3 Communications company, is currently looking for a Telecommunication Systems Design Engineer to work at our facility near Salt Lake City, UT. Wolf Coach has a reputation for providing the highest quality, custom designed broadcast systems for electronic and satellite news gathering (ENG/SNG), as well as communications platforms on the cutting edge in both Public Safety and Homeland Security.

Responsibilities include:

  • Create TV Broadcast, Military, Homeland Security and Public Safety Communication Systems design packages to include signal flow diagrams, wire pull lists, termination lists, equipment lists, bills of material (BOMs), and rack elevation drawings for customer projects.
  • Assist in creating/maintaining telecommunication systems engineering standards, procedures, reference libraries, and reference BOMs.
  • Support customers, manufacturing and customer service personnel in resolving broadcast systems technical questions and problems.
  • Perform systems testing and verification of established standards, and conduct training for customers.
  • Train our customers on the effective use of their communication systems.

Qualification/Knowledge Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Broadcast Engineering, Electrical, Computer or Electronics Engineering required.
  • Certified Cisco Network Engineer with experience and certifications in designing and building Cisco Network Architectures. Knowledge of Multilayered Switched Networks, VoIP systems and building Scalable Cisco Internetworks required.
  • Minimum of 3 years experience designing telecommunications and television broadcast systems; 5 years experience and SBE certification preferred.
  • Experience designing highly integrated systems including 2-way radios, RF systems, analog and digital television video and audio, electronic data and satellite uplink essential.
  • Minimum of 5 years hands on experience using AutoCAD™ required.
